Hurry, places are limited!

Once again, Mac Angus Farms and Ranch Covey Hill are teaming up to offer you a first-class event here at home in Havelock, Quebec.

Following our first Hillspride Sale last February, we thought about offering you an educative and interesting field day, on Saturday September 17th. We are specifically inviting all beef industry stakeholders, whether you are beef breeders, technical advisors, Juniors, or other industry partners.

In addition to touring our pastures and inspecting our Angus cattle both at the Ranch Covey Hill and Mac Angus Farms, our guest speakers will be offering you three instructive presentations. We are making every effort to offer you a day to remember, while serious matters would allow you to socialize with friends, colleagues, and partners.

In conjunction to the conference program, all Juniors will be invited to a short beef cattle clinic organized by our children. We want to share some passion about beef cattle with our youth through various demonstration: cattle preparation, showmanship, and cattle judging.

This special day will be wrapped up with good foods, relaxed atmosphere, and music!

DMV Genetiq services

Jonathan Lehouiller

Jonathan has earned his diploma in veterinary medicine from the University of Montreal in 2013. Born and raised in the Abitibi-Témiscamingue, he started his career in that same region in doing breeding soundness evaluation of beef bulls.

In 2015, he decided to specialize his veterinary practice in the field of advanced reproduction techniques both of bulls and breeding females, in doing embryo collections as well as ova collection and in-vitro fertilization with the Centre-du-Québec veterinary clinic. Starting in 2016, he offered to private farms an on-farm semen freezing service.

In 2018, to develop the in-vitro division even further, to lower costs and to be more competitive, he established an in-vitro laboratory within the clinic, which was only the second one in Canada. Beside this, he officially opened a semen collection facility in 2019, known as DMV Génétiq Services.

Jonathan is very active, giving numerous training sessions on breeding soundness evaluation of bulls, to producers as well as colleague veterinaries.

Over the last two years, he has been acting as vice-president of the Canadian Embryo Transfer Association.
