Two families, one passion, the Angus breed!
A new year has passed since our first Hillspride Sale, and what a great year filled with success, new achievements, and new projects it was for our breeding programs and our two families. With the pandemic finally behind us, we have participated more actively in many exhibitions, including those in Saint-Hyacinthe, Brome, Expo Boeuf, Toronto, and Regina. Among other things, our COVEY HILL CAPTAIN 12H, owned with Mac Angus, filled us with joy and pride, having been crowned Supreme Champion at Expo Boeuf in October 2022 and being one of the five finalists at the Toronto Royal. Several other cattle presented by our two farms have performed very well in the beef show circuit, clearly demonstrating the high quality of our genetic breeding programs.
Moreover, on September 17, 2022, we welcomed more than 150 visitors during our
first Field Day. In addition to visiting our two herds on pastures, everyone was able to
socialize in a more relaxed setting, improve their knowledge by listening to our expert speakers, and enjoy an excellent Angus beef supper. In addition, thanks to their eagerness to support the mission of the Certified Angus Beef® brand, Covey Hill Ranch won the 2022 CAB Award for Canadian Commitment to Excellence. The Sample family have also celebrated the arrival of Oaklynn, the ninth generation of the Mac Angus Farms. Congratulations Miranda and Coltin!
For our second Hillspride Sale, we made no compromises to offer you a group of 41
high-quality breeding bulls and 18 open heifers of very high calibre. We are proud to
offer you these elite individuals coming from the very best Angus genetic bloodlines
in North America. It should be noted that almost a quarter of the animals offered for
sale are the result of our two embryonic transfer programs. In addition to being all
genotyped (GS), our bulls were evaluated on their growth, functional conformation,
fertility, and carcass data. We invite you to come evaluate all cattle offered for sale starting at noon on Saturday, February 18, 2023, at Covey Hill Ranch in Havelock.
